Welcome to my RCMBA homepage. The management side of this team reflects three areas of my life... The name is because I'm a retired Syracuse NY Police Sergeant and quite proud of that fact. Those twenty plus years were exciting, equally rewarding and the best years of my life... When I was about 10 I discovered baseball cards, the Yankees and my first idol, Mickey Mantle. A couple of years later I read an ad about a baseball game called APBA and that is the reason you are reading this. The love of APBA, baseball cards and Yankees still holds true today and I faithfully follow the Yankee team including my two favorite players, Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter. In case you didn't notice all of my coaches not only were Yankees but they also played for the Phillies. That is because I spent many summers while a teen in NE Pennsylvania and that brought a lesser yet faithful following of the Phillies... One other factor has an impact on my minor league staff and that is music. My favorite group is the greatest band ever put together, Pink Floyd. If you've listened to the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" you understand. I also enjoy Santana, Dave Matthews and of course the Beatles.
Our GM is the Hall of Famer, Jim "Catfish" Hunter. A man with incredible talent, class and a strong desire to win but still humble enough to appreciate the simple things in life. Our manager is NYPD Blue Detective Sgt Andy Sipowicz. "How you doin?" Andy is a tough cop who knows how to take charge. He brings out the best in those around him and gets the job done by whatever means is necessary. He's someone you would want on your side. The bench coach is Pete Incaviglia who hit 206 homers which is a bit short of the 500 I thought he would launch. Jim Kaat our pitching coach won 283 games yet somehow isn't in the Hall of Fame. The hitting coach is Mike "Hitman" Easler, a 293 lifetime hitter. Charlie Hayes is the 3B coach and he managed to have two tours of duty with both the Phillies and Yankees. Our 1B coach is Sparky Lyle who wonders why he isn't in the bullpen. Ryne Duren had some difficulty finding and/or seeing home plate while throwing 100mph fastballs but he does a terrific job as our advance scout. Todd Zeile played for nearly every team in baseball and is well equipped to handle the farm system.
In the front office I've selected people that are my personal favorites. In charge of media relations is an amazing man that I deeply respect, the "King of the World", Muhammad Ali. Our stadium security is in the hands of the ultimate showman, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, standing 6'4" and 295 pounds. Our trainer is the sensational softball pitcher Jennie Finch. In the broadcast booth we have Michael Kay, Ken Singleton, Al Leiter and on the Spanish side, "El Tiante" Luis Tiant. Our mascot for the kids and me too is Foghorn Leghorn. Our AAA team, the Moody Blues feature not only great young players but the Pink Floyd band members along with Carlos Santana and Dave Matthews.
